Physician Assistant with a Focus on Whole-Person Primary Care

Kylie Poppell, MS, PA-C, brings a thoughtful and team-centered approach to patient care—rooted in both personal inspiration and academic curiosity. Growing up on Florida’s Space Coast, she was surrounded by a culture that celebrated STEM fields. While initially drawn to engineering, a high school semester that paired anatomy, physiology, and psychology changed everything. Guided by a teacher-turned-nurse practitioner and inspired by her sister, a registered nurse, Kylie discovered her passion for healthcare and whole-person care.

She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida, where her interdisciplinary studies gave her a comprehensive view of the many factors that shape patient health and access to care. She went on to complete her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Indiana University. During her time at USF, Kylie also worked as a medical assistant at the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center, contributing to clinical research and helping relaunch a major community education symposium.

At Heritage Urgent & Primary Care, Kylie provides both primary and urgent care services. She is especially passionate about chronic disease management—forming long-term, collaborative relationships with patients and helping them make sustainable progress toward their health goals.

Kylie’s healthcare philosophy centers around education, empowerment, and practicality. She meets patients where they are and works with them to create personalized care plans that address immediate concerns while also preventing future illness.

She remains energized by the growing focus on the intersection of wellness, nutrition, and mental health in chronic disease management—a space where she continues to see real transformation in patients’ lives.

Outside of work, Kylie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Matt and their cockapoo, Rowan. She’s also an avid reader, yoga enthusiast, and loves experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes for both cooking and baking.
